A series of 11 online interviews accompanies the exhibition “Io dico Io – I say I” at the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (Rome), curated by Cecilia Canziani, Lara Conte, and Paola Ugolini. Inspired by the writings of Carla Lonzi, the show explores the act of speaking in the first person as a way to affirm subjectivity.
Bringing together Italian women artists from different generations, the exhibition reflects on self-representation, the body, writing, and resistance to conformity, creating a non-linear narrative that challenges fixed roles and proposes new perspectives.
